MS Wissenschaft is back in Lower Austria
The former inland cargo ship is home to an annually changing exhibition. The theme for 2024 is ‘Freedom’.
The exhibition ship MS Wissenschaft is docking in Krems and Tulln again this year. On board is a hands-on exhibition on the subject of ‘Freedom’.
The MS Wissenschaft is a former inland cargo ship with an interactive exhibition on board. Every year, it sets off as a floating science centre to bring people closer to scientific topics. This year's exhibition focuses on the topic of "Freedom".
How free are our decisions? Are there moral machines? What about scientific freedom? This year's exhibition deals with these and other questions. From the concept of freedom in the Middle Ages to artificial intelligence, from dealing with climate change to driving simulators, from book printing to fake news: children, young people and adults can explore this exciting topic for themselves using around 30 interactive exhibits in the ship's former cargo hold.
The exhibition is designed for people aged 12 and over.
It is generally barrier-free, but the conditions vary from location to location. Wheelchair users or people with physical disabilities are therefore requested to register in advance. Contact: wissenschaft-pr@noel.gv.at

The interactive exhibition in the belly of the ship offers hands-on science. For example, visitors can use a driving simulator to test how automated driving affects their own freedom.
